February 2023 Newsletter

Well, halfway through another month and here we are.  President Steve Ross sent pictures of the work that has been going on with the plumbing and such for the foundation.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to forward them to myself from Messenger to my email, but I will continue working on that and get them posted in the gallery and on Facebook.  That said, the plumbing has been completed and there was hope to start working on the concrete pouring today (16th), however, once again, the weather has created a delay with all the rain soaking the area too much to proceed as quickly as we would like.

As we understand it, once the foundation is poured and inspected, the building itself should be ready to go up.  We have already paid for the building and its erection, so that will be the time when we are really pushing to raise more funds as the work that has already been covered moves forward.  I expect we will see it go from seemingly slowly, to sudden progress as that stage begins.

To update as I can, please keep Martin Titsworth's family in your thoughts and prayers following his passing on February 8th at 93 years old.  A celebration of life is to be held at a later date, so please keep a look out for that.  His obituary has been linked in on the Facebook page.

President Steve Ross will be going in for surgery soon after a great deal of run around with his doctors.  Please also keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I know that some members have attended the officer's meetings at the invite of our President and would like to thank them for coming when they have.  Some may know just how much is going on as we continue to push forward as we can and they can see the frustration we face when even we get impatient waiting for better news.  But, I would like to take this moment to thank our AMAZING board members for what they often do that so few even realize.  While we don't do many of our community fundraisers and such like we have in the past within the comforts of a physical lodge, this board never fails to come to together to dig in and donate to whatever we can in ways that allow us to avoid using our funds.  The Fire Department has been a benefactor of the boards' actions more than once when we assisted in funding the Food Drive for the Seniors and Halloween functions as well as other various functions when the opportunity arises.  In addition to maintaining membership with the Lodge and with the Higher Degrees of the Moose Legion and Fellowship Order, these individuals often come forward to keep our Lodge in good standing in so many ways while still giving back to the community and meeting our fraternal obligations.  None of them would make a big deal of it, but if you see them out and about, remember that they do much more than it seems and just extend a simple thank you for all that they do in representing our Lodge as they do despite the trials and tribulations of our current situation.

We are certainly looking for more donations and fundraiser ideas as we go forward, so please feel free to discuss it with any of the officers, or even email me at the Lodge email with ideas so that I can present them to the Board.....lodge1038@mooseunits.org

Stay postive, be kind, and remember to do some good thing for someone each day!

God Bless you all!

Fraternally yours,

Robert Mathis
