March means a few different things. First, it's time for nominations for the upcoming Board of Officers elections. If you are interested, please contact any of the officers for more information.
The Moose Legion Celebration will be held at the NW Tucson Moose Lodge during the weekend of the 11th - 13th.
Mid-Year conference is being held in Albuquerque the 3rd through the 6th.
The One Moose concept has left a few of our ladies confused. Lodges with chapters had the female members automatically transferred into the Lodge membership system as of May 1st last year if they were current with their dues at that time. Unfortunately, in our situation with no chapter, many of the women found themselves members of the virtual Lodge or another Lodge in our district based on where they held their chapter membership. We've gone a long way to get everyone transferred to our Lodge as we come across the information. Concerns about the difference between chapter and Lodge membership have arisen a few times. Please reach out to me via the email or phone if you have further questions or need additional help in taking care of your membership records.
I've said it before, and I'll say again. I couldn't be more thrilled with all of the members who've held on as we go through all the speedbumps to rebuild. It really is important that everyone remember what our membership dues really go toward. Our support for Mooseheart and Moosehaven has been phenomenal despite the lack of a building....and it shows.
As of right now, we are the only Lodge in the District potentially set to achieve the Premier Lodge award for this year. How's that for an accomplishment? We must be doing something right even as we sit around waiting on county and contractors.
Speaking of contractors, we expect to have some bids back by the first week of March for our March 7th General Meeting at the Church on Tacna again. We are very grateful that they allow us to use that facility in addition to the Fire Department allowing us to hold Board meetings at their location.
I'm still working on finalizing the details and nuances of this new site, so let me know if you have any thoughts and stay postive and Be Moose Strong.
Fraternally yours,
Robert Mathis
